More than 150 games to have fun inside and outside the hospital 2026

Now that most children play in swimming pools and beaches, summer camps and towns, we have remembered those others who spend the hot summer days between the walls of a hospital. And what better way than playing with the Atresmedia Foundation's proposal "More than 150 games to have fun inside and outside the hospital." This book, written by journalist Lary León and edited by Zenith, includes challenges to develop imagination, to laugh, to express emotions, skill, with music and sounds, with numbers and words or to relax.

In its development it has had the collaboration of the Official College of Psychologists to adapt the games to the corresponding ages, according to their abilities and needs. In addition, the Foundation donates copies of this publication to the 163 hospitals throughout Spain, with which it currently collaborates.

An essential medicine

The activities it presents will help children of all ages express what they feel, get to know themselves better and even do magic. Because with very little material but a lot of imagination, you can make the hours pass without realizing it and in a more fun way.

This is what the author of the prologue, Jandro, a regular contributor to Antena 3's Hormiguero 3.0, tells it, for whom this work "is not a book, it is a medicine. A medicine that heals well on the inside. A necessary medicine in all areas of life. I'm talking about playing, laughing and sharing. Medicines that should not be missing in any home, much less in a hospital."

The author, Lary León, is of the same opinion, explaining that "children in the hospital are sick, but they are still children and they need to play, laugh, learn, see colors, feel joy around them and, above all, they need emotional attention." She is clear that playing is "one of the best gifts we can give them is to give them the ability to know how to cheer themselves up, to have a positive attitude in the face of adversity. It is about enhancing self-esteem, that of children and adults, to discover together how valuable it is to put empathy into practice and cultivate patience, essential in a hospital."

And she knows well what she is talking about, because the current Project and Content Coordinator of the Atresmedia Foundation has spent long periods hospitalized when she was a child. This experience has marked his life and has strengthened his empathy and affection for hospitalized children.

A solidarity initiative

The copyright and part of the profits from 150 games for fun inside and outside the hospital will be allocated entirely to the Hospital Assistance Program of the Atresmedia Foundation, which aims to enhance the humanization of children's hospitals, developing actions aimed at both informing children about the process they are going through and entertaining them.

With these initiatives, the Foundation aims to normalize hospitalization, contribute to making the stay of minors in the hospital as pleasant as possible and alleviate the anxiety that being in that situation may cause them.
