People who have a birthday in April will celebrate their party in 2020 in a somewhat special way: without leaving home or being physically close to their close friends and family (although they will be able to use new technologies to be with them virtually). And the quarantine established by the government as a response measure against Covid-19 is undoubtedly affecting the daily lives of many people.
As for birthday parties, adults probably know how to cope better, but children can be very affected if the most special day for them arrives and there is no surprise waiting for them, even if it is in the living room.
Thinking about all of them, we have hit the jackpot and discovered that it is possible to organize an unforgettable birthday party without leaving home. For this, recycling can also serve as an excuse to have a fun time. Oh yes! The decoration cannot be missing: for this you will only need some stationery materials that we all have at home and many balloons.
To complicate it a little more, we thought that the party could be themed and we have decided on something very common among children: Disney. And the friendly Mickey is in everyone's childhood and is one of the favorite characters of many of them. Therefore, we believe that it may be a good idea for you to also become the protagonist of this special party without leaving home.
To be able to organize everything in a surprise, you will have to entertain the little one with games, crafts, with a movie from Netflix or HBO or, why not, doing homework and watching an educational program on TV.
We are sure that, thanks to the ideas that we propose below, nothing and no one will ruin your little one's birthday party.
Decorated mural
This will be the element on which all the other details of the party will be placed. To us it seems very original and easy to make: all you have to do is cover a table and the wall behind it with a roll of polka dot wrapping paper (I'm sure you have it at home). If it's red and black, much better. To give a special touch, you can also add a few balloons in the same colors.
The cake cannot be missed
We know that tart is one of the essentials for all birthday parties and in a Disney-themed one, it has to go accordingly. For this reason, we have researched on the internet and discovered a very, very simple recipe: all you have to do is make a cake (chocolate, lemon, yogurt or whatever you prefer) in a round mold. Next, you will make two more identical ones but a little smaller (which will be the ears). Once everything is baked, you will assemble them on a tray, placing the large one in the center and the other two as Mickey ears and you will cover it with chocolate coating. The one in the image is made with a pastry bag with grooves, but you can also choose to cover it without details.
Mickey Lollipops
Another snack idea is to create these fun lollipops. How to do it? With Oreo cookies: first you will have to create a red chocolate coating: dissolving the chocolate and adding a little food coloring will be enough. Afterwards, you will dip an Oreo cookie halfway into the mixture and then stick it on a toothpick (they can be chopsticks). Finally, you will put the ears that are made of the decorative chocolate medals that are sold in all supermarkets.
The soundtrack
The music that will liven up the party could not be other than the soundtracks of Disney movies. To achieve it, on Spotify you will find a lot of specialized lists. You can play them on any speaker you have at home, or directly with your mobile phone.
Masks of your favorite characters
Another very entertaining craft that comes in handy for this themed birthday party. What will you need to make them? A few colored cards and some chopsticks. You can find the templates free and downloadable to print on any website.
Your name on cardboard
We thought it was a pretty pretty and special trezzo for the occasion. These letters are inspired by the most famous Disney characters and making them is very simple (they can become a perfect craft for the days before the birthday party): First you will take advantage of the cardboard boxes that we all have at home and you will cut out each letter of the child's name. Next, you will paint all the details with a pencil and they will be colored with paint (they can be tempera) of different colors.
Tsum-Tsum Balloons
We love Disney characters in their baby version and, therefore, we suggest you decorate a few balloons like this to liven up the party decorations. A package of balloons and a cardboard box of colored cardboard will be more than enough: for those with more details, you can use them, cut them out and glue them carefully. Others, like Winnie The Pooh, can be created directly with a permanent marker.
Themed napkins
To get napkins as cute as the ones in the image, all you have to do is create a craft with cardboard: you will cut out a strip approximately one finger wide by ten centimeters long, and three circles (one large and two smaller). All in black. Now, with a small piece of pink, fuchsia or red cardboard, you will make a bow and join it all together. The strip will serve as a ring on which the napkin and main cutlery will be rolled.
Heavy stuffed artillery
Your Disney stuffed animals will be the other big stars of the party because they will help decorate and set everything apart and, in addition, they can be great adventure companions.
