What medical condition causes you to keep gaining weight?

The parents of this little girl say that they are worried about her health, since they have previously experienced the loss of a child and know that pain, however this baby weighs four times what a child of that age should weigh and the most serious problem now is to diagnose the reason for this insatiable appetite. Doctors are increasingly alarmed with Chachat's health conditions, it is difficult for her to breathe and even sleep due to her excess weight, but they are unable to reach a diagnosis.

Furthermore, due to an exceptional condition of his skin (harder than normal), it is very difficult to take blood samples from his body, so the possibility of studying the problem is even more complicated if we also take into account that the level of body fat prevents the correct performance of the same blood tests.

On the other hand, the Kumar family's lack of resources prevents them from traveling to another place to study the little girl's case.

Who is responsible?

A few years ago in Spain, the custody of a 9-year-old boy was withdrawn from his parents due to his overweight, since he weighed 70 kilograms at the time of the decision and had reached 86. Given the parents' inability to make their son lose weight, the Xunta de Galicia claimed guardianship, considering that the child's health was in danger. It is not the first case that we know of, in England and the United States we have known as many other cases as that of a five-year-old boy. years that, weighing more than 25 kilos, guardianship was removed from his parents; Just like in Manchester, where social services were left with custody of a boy who at 14 years old weighed more than 80 kilos. And one of the best-known cases, also in the United Kingdom, where a Scottish couple, parents of seven children, saw how four of them were taken to foster homes and, after this, were given up for adoption due to the real inability to make the children lose weight. The little ones were then eleven, seven, five and one year old and were separated from their parents due to obesity. Three years before the final resolution, the couple was informed that either their children would lose weight or they would lose custody of the children. After the time set by social services, the four children were still suffering from obesity, so the ultimatum was not of much use.

The parents of these little ones assured at the time that, although they knew that they were not the perfect family, they love their children and did not consider life without them. A pattern common to all these families, in which love is not necessarily the ingredient that is missing at home, but, perhaps, a conception of it that passes from the perspective of health. Understanding that teaching healthy habits to children, teaching them to take care of themselves, and to take care of their body, is the most valuable lesson of love that can be learned. In the case of little Chachat, her parents go a little further and assure that it is 'God' who is ultimately responsible for their daughter's morbidly obese condition, in no case do they, although they assure that they want her to be able to play like other children and that they do not want her to have difficulties in the future, that they wish for a good future for her.

Childhood obesity in Spain

Childhood obesity is a pandemic in industrialized countries, and Spain is not far behind. 43% of Spanish children between seven and eight years old are overweight or obese.

In addition, you must be aware that an obese child is very likely to be an obese adult, which potentially increases the risk of developing cardiovascular disease or diabetes in the future, as well as reducing life expectancy.
