What does the PP offer families in its electoral program? 2026

We have extracted from the Popular Party program the proposals for the 20-N general elections that most affect families. The questionnaire is divided into four large blocks: 1.- Direct support measures for families. 2.- Education and educational system. 3.- Equality policies. 4.- Housing policies.

1.- Direct support measures for the family

Families are an essential support of society, especially in times of crisis, and we will support them as they deserve, especially those who have minor children and large families.

We will support from public services those people who have fallen into a situation of social exclusion, poverty, or have been unemployed for a long time. We will promote a national plan to combat child poverty, which identifies priority actions in favor of the social inclusion of children. In addition, we will raise the exempt minimums in personal income tax, adapting them better to the circumstances of families.

We will promote a maternity protection law with measures to support pregnant women. We will change the model of the current regulation on abortion to strengthen the protection of the right to life, as well as that of minors.

We will approve a comprehensive family support plan, aimed primarily at promoting measures that facilitate the compatibility of professional and family life.

2.- Education

Education is one of the main pillars of the Popular Party's reform project, which is why it will promote that every student has the same educational opportunities regardless of their place of residence and their socio-economic situation.

We will approve a national education quality strategy that includes a specific program to improve reading and writing skills. Instrumental subjects such as language, mathematics and English will have a central priority in compulsory education.

Secondary education will have a more flexible organization, offering training paths according to the interests, motivations and progress of the students. We will promote Spanish-English bilingualism throughout the educational system from the second cycle of early childhood education.

We will enhance the civic training of students, replacing the subject of Citizenship Education with another, whose content is based on learning constitutional values ​​and knowledge of Spanish and European institutions.

3.- Equality policies

We will promote the updating of our family law to adapt it to new social realities, favoring mediation and co-responsibility of parents, and safeguarding the rights and interests of minors.

It is not contemplated in the program.

4.- Housing Policies

We will strengthen the bankruptcy law to introduce mechanisms for the release of debtors after the execution of attachable assets in insolvency proceedings of natural persons, with due guarantees to avoid abusive behavior.

We will promote rental housing plans for families with the greatest difficulties in accessing housing, taking into account objective criteria, such as the per capita income of the household.
