This is what a day at kindergarten is like 2026

Each nursery school has its own style and way of organizing itself according to its educational project, however, they all have certain common moments that are determined by the age of the children who attend. The entry of the children in the morning is the first contact with the school's educational staff, and it is very important to take care of that meeting so that the child feels welcomed, loved and starts the day happy.

What is a day at preschool like?

When all the students are in the classroom, the assembly begins. This is one of the most important moments of the day as it consists of a group meeting, where communication is practiced through recognition of others and the environment.

Activities are also carried out to learn social skills such as greeting, learning to wait for one's turn to speak, and children generally share the experiences they had with their families the day before. To finish, they sing songs and memorize their gestures to, in this way, develop memory in a simple and fun way.

After the assembly

After the assembly, activities are organized according to the school's educational project. These activities vary depending on the day of the week, alternating between English, music, experimentation with elements of everyday life, psychomotor skills, storytelling and free play. Children live every moment being the protagonists of the activity, they acquire new knowledge and develop their abilities. There is no better way to learn than by playing.

The patio

At the end of the classroom activities, it is time to go out to the patio; They love this activity, especially riding strollers, motorcycles or doing free play, where they develop their innate interpersonal creative capacity, interacting with their classmates spontaneously and at the same time guided by the educators, learning important life skills such as sharing, negotiating, cooperating, etc.

Food and nap

Then comes mealtime, a special activity that initiates and stimulates a good relationship between the child and food; It is also an optimal context to advance the progressive development of autonomy, which varies according to the age of the children.

We're going home

Next, it's time to get pretty to receive dad, mom, grandparents, etc. This ritual is carried out by reviewing what was experienced during the day in order to share with the family their “little-big” discoveries and advances.

And what better way to end the day than to sing some songs or do a group story-telling! When leaving, each child usually says goodbye to his or her teacher with a big kiss or hug, a sign of how comfortable they were that day and how much they enjoyed together.

Now it is “time” to go home, play and enjoy with the family. It is important to always keep in mind that play is emotion, and as many neuroscience studies already defend, there is no learning without emotion.
