The changes in the body, the emotional ups and downs, the ups and downs of sexual desire, fears and anxiety about becoming parents... all of this contributes to the dynamics in the couple being able to transform during pregnancy – and much more in the postpartum period. Here we give you some tips to keep the flame alive during the nine months of pregnancy, and better prepare to endure the quarantine.
Advice for them: appreciate your new beauty.
Sometimes the couple can become cold because the woman does not feel comfortable with her pregnant body. But hey, if you feel uncomfortable with your figure, it will be difficult for you to want to receive caresses or other manifestations of affection. So start by doing everything possible to accept your changes, and embrace the beauty of pregnancy. Your hair will surely look strong as ever, your skin will be smooth and shiny, and you can show off incredible necklines.
Advice for them: keep seducing her.
On the other hand, there are times when the couple seems to distance themselves because suddenly the man begins to see the woman exclusively as a mother, and that is why it is difficult for him to see her pregnant and sexy. Therefore, if your partner is pregnant, you must make the effort to remember every day that she is still the same as before, the woman you fell in love with. A compliment, an unexpected kiss, a bouquet of flowers (given just because, on any date) or preparing her favorite dinner, remember to continue doing all those things that she previously enjoyed.
Advice for both: talk about desire.
Sexuality during pregnancy can go through changes from trimester to trimester, and not all people experience it in the same way. There are men who feel extremely eroticized by the new rounded and feminine figure of their partner, just as there are others who fear having sexual relations thinking that they could harm the baby. There are also women who experience a decrease in desire... and others who find pregnancy more fiery than ever! Whatever the case, the important thing is to talk about it together, to let the couple know what is happening to us, and to find a middle ground that satisfies both of us.
Advice for both: there is love beyond sex.
Even if due to lack of desire on the part of one or the other, or even due to medical advice during pregnancy, the couple needs to postpone romantic encounters, there are ways to continue maintaining intimacy and affection in the relationship that do not necessarily involve genitality. Romantic dates, hugs, caresses, kisses, intimate talks, anything goes to stay connected with each other. There will be time to make love again, the important thing is to keep the mutual feeling alive.
