A video in which Beatriz Millán, an expert in children's literature, presents us with some titles with which our little ones will be able to learn, expand, assimilate and begin to use words with which they will little by little build sentences and hence their way of expressing themselves.

And it is well known that the sooner children are in contact with books, the more likely they will be to incorporate the healthy habit of reading into their lives. Not only that. Beatriz Millán remembers that “the sooner they are in contact with books, the sooner they acquire words that are not usually in their environment.”

Of course, not everything goes. If you want to be right in the choice of books that you put in the hands of your children, you can be inspired by the selection that Beatriz Millán has made for all of us. A selection presented to us at the El Dragón Lector bookstore, located on Feliciana Street in Madrid (number 17).

In that selection, Beatriz Millán presents My words and I, from Editorial Combel. A book that relates the image to the concept while telling a story in which the baby can see things from his routine, such as eating, drinking, bathing, playing, being with his friends or having a snack.

For the slightly older kids, Millán opts for My imaginary, from the SM publishing house, in which the protagonists, who are two bunnies – Martín and Lili – show the parts of their body, the items of clothing they are wearing, the areas of the house in which they live and what they do outside their home.

My basic imaginary by heart, from the Combel publishing house, is another of the books selected by Beatriz Millán. This one, in addition to images, colors with them. In addition, it makes the little ones play to find out the opposites through textures. Examples? Offering a soft texture for a sheep and a sharper texture for a hedgehog.

Another of the books selected by Beatriz Millán is My First Book of Words from the Usborne publishing house, which shows illustrations of animals from the jungle, the farm, the marine world..., and talks about who the members of a family are, offering images and words associated with the body, or the house.

From this same publisher, Beatriz Millán presents How Many Words I Know!, which is a much broader book that introduces somewhat less frequent words, such as flashlight, or more complicated words such as blinds, while talking about the means of transportation that can be found in a city and the different professions.

With books like all the previous ones, children begin to acquire vocabulary and language. And we, adults, can help them by asking them to find the words in those books that appear accompanied by their drawings and point them out to us. Can you think of a more beautiful and entertaining way to help them expand vocabulary and develop their language?
