• Firstly, their instep is quite turgid, which will mean that the only two points of support of the foot are on the toes and on the heel, causing certain difficulties when maintaining balance and, in addition, they tend to be more prone to any injury.
• Excess curvature will also cause excess rigidity in the plantar region due to the load of having the child's entire weight rest on only two points. Specifically, your toes are the ones that will suffer the most. In fact, given the imbalance of strength, it may even cause claw fingers.
• Another effect derived from pes cavus is muscle stiffness caused together with the shortening of the foot due to the high arch height.

Causes of cavus foot

The causes that indicate that our children suffer from cavos feet are quite evident, since they manifest themselves with the naked eye or on many other occasions cause ailments. Even so, it is advisable to put yourself in the hands of experts since the causes can be due to both hereditary and neurological factors.

Despite this, it is not an anomaly that we should worry excessively about, but we should pay special attention to it and have the supervision and care of a podiatry professional, that is, a specialist who monitors the evolution of the irregularity. Well, in this way we will be helping our children to lead a very normal life thanks to the treatment previously imposed.

It is true that in many cases it can be corrected since the curvature is not very exaggerated, and since it has been detected at an early age, thanks to the use of podiatric insoles that allow the foot to extend its contact area with the surface, the prominent curvature will be reduced and future problems will be avoided.

Therefore, it is important to raise awareness of the importance of receiving podiatric care for the development of an early diagnosis of this anomaly because in this way it will be possible to implement a treatment according to each case, all with the goal of moderating the increase and progress of cavus foot.

To alleviate possible ailments in our little ones, it is recommended that they practice stretching in this area of the body to relieve accumulated tension and activate the most stiff areas. In these cases, it is essential to use podiatric insoles that regulate stability and enhance the appropriate support areas in order to reduce the height of the plantar arch as much as possible.
