Getting in shape safely, fun and effectively after giving birth without having to separate from your baby, it is possible! This is the new sport designed to facilitate the mother-child bond. Stay with the name because it will cause a trend: Kangatraining. In Australia and in large European and Latin American cities, it is sweeping!
It is physical exercise to get in shape after childbirth focused, mainly on toning the body and muscles in a non-harmful way. It is the best postpartum gymnastics, because the instructors take care of the correct body posture in the daily life of the mother or father with the baby, avoiding the common back pain and strengthening the deep abdominal muscles. It can be done from 10-12 weeks after childbirth and it is advisable to combine Kangatraining classes with pelvic floor recovery such as hypopressive gymnastics.
This sport was born in Vienna with the intention of achieving an effective recovery for the mother while pampering the development of the baby. Behind this ideal sport for the postpartum are midwives, physiotherapists and specialists in ergonomic carrying, with knowledge of the pelvic floor and breastfeeding. To Spain, specifically to Pamplona (Navarra) and Palma de Mallorca, it arrives from the hand of specialists in ergonomic carrying from Amatriuska such as María Arenzana, also a lactation consultant and representative of Kangatraining in our country.
Is Kangatraining safe for the baby?
One of the essentials to carry out Kangatraining correctly is that all babies are carried correctly and effectively. This means that they must be well supported, in a frog position, with their legs in an “M”, with their spine slightly rounded in the shape of a “C”, protected from optical overload (facing the mother, whether carried in front or on the back and comfortable for the person carrying the baby, that is, using a suitable baby carrier, according to the needs of each mother. When the baby is already walking, they usually get in and out of the baby carrier at will and dance with their mothers.
It is important to emphasize the importance of the training of instructors, specially trained so that mothers can exercise according to their possibilities, recommending the exercises that each mother can perform, and thus personalizing the classes as much as possible. Therefore, classes are small, with a maximum of 12 people.
Why choose Kangatraining?
The benefits of Kangatraining are innumerable, both physical and emotional.
This is a Kangatraining class
At the beginning of the Kangatraining classes, a warm-up consisting of functional exercises on the floor with or without the baby is done. Then the dancing and fun begins. These are choreographies adapted to the baby's load. To finish, a short session of stretching, muscle relaxation and basic pelvic floor exercises is done. In total, between an hour and an hour and a quarter.
