Materials needed:
- Satin ribbon in the color you like the most
- Diapers (the amount varies depending on the plants you want your cake to have)
- two sticks
- Scissors
- Cardboard tubes (as many as the number of plants in the cake)
- Craft yarn
- Colored cardboard
- Tissue paper to wrap the cake
Step by Step:
- The first thing we must do is place the satin ribbon of the color we have chosen on a flat surface. Just above the ribbon we will place the diapers, overlapping one over the end of the previous one.
- We will put one of the cardboard tubes at one of the ends and we will lean on it to roll the diapers. To keep the satin ribbon securely in place, we can stick it with silicone or glue to the cardboard tube. In this way, the ribbon should surround the first floor of diapers.
- We will do the same procedure one more time (or as many times as we want our cake to finally have floors). We can put a smaller amount of diapers on these upper floors, this way the levels will go from high to low from below.
- You can add in the middle of the cake, right in the space left by the cardboard tube, some other detail for the baby (a stuffed animal, a baby cream, some gels or any other utensil or detail for the little one). This way, your gift will be much more original and personalized.
- Now we will take the two sticks and join two of their ends with the craft thread. We can join it by tying a knot or gluing it with silicone.
- The time has come to use the cardboard. We will have to cut out small triangles that fit one letter of the word that we want to put on our gift. The ideal would be to put the name of the future baby or 'BABY' to decorate our craft.
- Once the triangles are made, we will glue them on top of the craft thread, which we have previously attached to the two sticks. In this way we will have a personalized pennant with a name. To finish, we will fit the two sticks to the cake.
- We only have the last step left. We will use tissue paper to wrap our fantastic cake. We can decorate it with some little details on the outside (a stuffed animal, a baby bottle...) and, voilà! We will have the perfect gift for the new baby and the future parents.
Personalized and designed exclusively for the baby and his family, the diaper cake is a gift well known for its functionality. Not only is it aesthetically beautiful, but it is also very useful for the parents and the baby because of all the gifts and essential items (such as diapers) that are included in it. We want to see yours!
