Nobody said that educating was an easy task, quite the opposite. Many times we find ourselves facing difficult moments because we have different views on a circumstance or the way to approach any situation, since, as people, before parents, couples... we have different opinions and points of view.
We all understand this, however, we also have to understand the importance of not taking authority away from the adult over the child. Just like teaching them to eat or brush their teeth, education and respect also have to be worked on and if you allow me, with more perseverance and effort.
Children are small, but that doesn't mean they stop being intelligent. In fact, if you stop to observe them, you will see how they are capable of going around and around until they manage to get what they want. Well, that's what they do with us too, if one doesn't let me do something and the other does, if we contradict each other, they will take advantage of playing with it and this is not only harmful for the child, it will also bring arguments and problems in the family environment.
It cannot be that there is a “cool daddy/mommy” who consents to everything and another figure who is dedicated to setting limits and routines.
Sometimes we make the mistake of thinking that if we don't give them everything they want they will love us less or that because of the daily rhythm we spend little time with them and that is why we have to be permissive. Well, we must be clear that the only thing routines do for children is give them security, therefore we have to see it as something necessary and positive.
Within these routines and day-to-day life we find kindergartens and schools. We should not have to remember that parents should trust the education sector, just as we do in our pediatrician or gynecologist, since they have completed specialized studies for this work, and in most cases, it is vocational.
Keeping this in mind, we have to trust them, to whom we leave the best of our lives, our children, and know that they are there to help us, guide us, support us and that they also want the best for the children.
Just like at home, we can have different points of view and as adults, we can discuss any issue, but it is important that we do not do it in front of the child, asking, for example, for a tutoring session to comment on what happened. But there should always be respect for the authority figure, whether at home, at school...
