The bicycle without pedals

The fundamental previous step to learn to ride a bicycle as quickly as possible is to be able to maintain balance on it and learn to control the direction. And there are two ways to do this: remove the pedals from the bike and lower your seat so that you can reach the ground with both feet to avoid falls, or directly purchase a learning bicycle, the invention of the century to learn to ride a bike.

Between the ages of 3 and 4, a child, depending on his or her strength, development and whether or not he or she has ridden a learning bicycle before, begins to be ready to be able to ride a bicycle with pedals. This transition moment is important to do quickly, without spending too much time on the training wheels. What's more, if the little one is loose and it is evident that he maintains his balance very well - he lifts his feet and lets himself ride the training bike for a long stretch - you can ignore them directly. It is the most recommended, in fact; don't use them. In this way, dependency will not be generated nor will the transition be unnecessarily prolonged.

Choose the right material

It seems obvious, but it is decisive for the child to quickly learn to ride a bike that it is according to their characteristics. There are children who are given their first bike that is disproportionately large or excessively heavy, and when they want to start riding them they do not even have enough strength to move them. They will end up doing it, but it is a detail on the part of adults to provide them with a bicycle appropriate to their age, and one that is light and manageable as much as possible. For this reason it is much better that they are made of aluminum and not iron. And if it helps them not to be afraid of getting stuck, these can not have a central bar, there is no problem.

Curiously, almost no one learned with their father or grandfather without them previously supporting them as a guide, but it is the most recommended. At most, and without being the most advisable, you can introduce a previous step where the child is given security in the first few times by holding him minimally by the neck, so that he feels that there is someone there with him. But it's more mental than anything else, like when you go out for a run and on the slopes someone puts a finger on your back so that you feel a special impulse that really isn't such.  In no time at all, it will definitely come loose.

Consciousness, positive reinforcement and practice, without needing to barely help him, but providing him with the appropriate material, not rushing into the change to the pedal bike and dedicating little quality time to being able to go out on a bicycle from a young age, he will learn to ride independently, with the transition to the pedals being very simple and quick. Quite the opposite of how contemporary parents learn, almost out of nowhere and at a forced pace, without a prior learning base such as that provided by learning bikes or the trick of converting the first pedal bike into one of them in case the learning bike has outgrown the learning bike and the child is not yet ready for the definitive change.
