10 tips for baby's first outings 2026

Choose the destination

The first thing to do is decide the destination to take everything you need.

When the weather is good, parks, green areas or the beach are the best option for walking with the little ones. The sun, the fresh air and the colors of the landscape will surely fill you all with energy. No matter what type of terrain you go on, strollers know no limits!

Diapers, wipes, clothes, pacifier...

Even if the journey is short, you have to be foresight and bring all the things you may need:

Diapers, wipes, water, a bottle or baby food if you are going to have to eat on the way, bibs, a pacifier, a couple of changes of clothes, etc... The most comfortable thing is to breastfeed, the prior preparation is reduced. For the most clueless, preparing a list and "crossing off" everything we have can be very useful.

mom's bag

Your things are also important, so it is best to have a large bag that can adapt to the stroller or stroller, where you can carry your things and the baby's things.

There are many maternity bags to carry everything together, both your things and the baby's. If you don't want to spend money on a maternity bag, you can also choose to have a small one for you and the baby. It's the easiest thing to organize.

Protect your baby from the sun

Once we have things prepared, it is time to get the baby ready. Make sure he has a clean diaper and that he doesn't have to eat immediately.

Pediatricians recommend that you apply special sun protection for children before leaving the house. It is not necessary to carry an umbrella, hat, sunglasses... With a special baby cream, applying it frequently, and trying to find shade during strong hours, your baby will be covered.

A multipurpose blanket

Even if the weather is good, it is possible that in shady places there will be air conditioning where you go.

So that the baby does not get cold, muslin scarves or a summer or winter blanket are very practical depending on the season. There are many designs and colors and they can be used in a thousand different ways: as a sheet, as an “extension” of the stroller hood so that the sun does not bother the little one while they sleep, and even to have more privacy if you wish to breastfeed in public places.

Raincoat for the stroller

Before closing the door at home, check that you are wearing the rain cover if you think it is going to rain or be very windy. It seemed impossible… But now you're ready to go for a walk!

We recommend that you always carry it in the stroller, because sometimes the rain surprises us. Both carrycots and strollers have a rain cover.

If you are going to take the car

If you take the car to get to your destination, remember that it is essential to use the child safety restraint system.

And to avoid getting bored during the journey, there is nothing better than bringing a good repertoire of children's songs. Even if he doesn't know how to speak, you'll be surprised to see how he recognizes and tries to sing his favorites! Remember the new traffic rules

We're going for a walk

No matter the age of your baby, the little ones in the house love walking in the stroller or chair since the rattle of the street and the fresh air usually calms them and helps them sleep.

If the baby is only a few days old, it is best to start with an outing of fifteen or twenty minutes a day and progressively increase the duration of your walks.

And from 5 months...reclining car

If your baby can already hold his head on his own (usually after 5 months), it is time to incorporate him so that he can discover the world around him.

Reversible strollers are ideal. You will see how their expression changes when you go out for a walk. Every corner will hide a new stimulus that will turn the outing into an adventure! We recommend using a stroller that allows different reclines, so that your baby can sleep comfortably when needed. Don't miss the 2014 stroller models

To stimulate the senses

Once you have arrived at your destination, it is time to have fun together and let your little one enjoy discovering and experimenting.

The beach or the park are ideal places to stimulate your senses. I'm sure you won't forget his face if it's the first time he steps on the sand barefoot! A hug, a grin...everything stimulates them. He will also have a great time playing with the bucket and shovel, climbing on a swing... or chasing pigeons!
